Course: Industrial Robot and Automated Line Operator
- Duration: 3 days (24 teaching hours of 45 min.)
Day 1 — Fundamentals and safety
Module 1 — Introduction and the operator's role
- The operator's role in robotic production.
- Key concepts: monitoring, response, reporting.
- Main cell components — HMI panels, buttons, light barriers, emergency stops.
Module 2 — Safety and LOTO procedures
- Hazardous zones and "dead" zones of the robot.
- Emergency stops, safety interlocks and light curtains.
- LOCKOUT-TAGOUT (LOTO).
- What must never be done during an automatic cycle.
- Practice: emergency stop, safe entry/exit.
Day 2 — Operation and alarms
Module 3 — Working with HMI and control panels
- Operator interface: system states (Ready, Running, Stopped, Fault).
- Starting, stopping and resetting the process.
- Hands-on exercises: starting/stopping via the HMI.
Module 4 — Alarms and signals
- Types of alarms: warnings and critical faults.
- Examples: "Part not in fixture", "Air pressure low", "Safety door open".
- A cheat sheet for the most common alarms.
- Practice: simulated problems and responses according to procedures.
Day 3 — Maintenance and exam
Module 5 — Daily checks and basic maintenance
- Visual inspection: cables, sensors, fastenings.
- Recognizing anomalies and minor faults.
- Replacing consumables and resetting after an emergency stop.
- Documentation and reporting.
- Workshop: "A day in the life of an operator".
Module 6 — Final exam
- Practical part (80%): starting a cell, responding to emergencies, safe shutdown.
- Theoretical part (20%): questions on alarms, safety and the operator's role.
Overall split: Day 1 — theory 60% / practice 40%; Day 2 — theory 40% / practice 60%; Day 3 — theory 30% / practice 70%. Course total: theory ~43%, practice ~57%.
