BMW Manufacturing bets on the future: Figure's humanoid robots enter car production

BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC has signed a commercial agreement with Figure, a California company leading the development of autonomous humanoid robots.

The partnership aims to deploy general-purpose robots in the production environment of BMW. The humanoid robots from Figure will automate:

  • repetitive
  • dangerous
  • unpleasant

tasks along the production chain, freeing employees to focus on more highly skilled activities.

The benefits are many:

  • higher efficiency
  • lower costs
  • a safer working environment

“Single-purpose robotics is already well established, but the potential of general-purpose robots is untapped. Figure's solutions will let companies work more efficiently, optimize costs and create a safer and more consistent production environment,” said Brett Adcock, founder and CEO of Figure. “We're proud to be working with BMW Manufacturing and are excited to integrate AI and robotics into automotive manufacturing.”
